Frequently Asked Questions About Our Gutter Cleaning & Gutter Repair Services
Q: What methods do you use for gutter cleaning?
A: We use a large wet vacuum cleaner specifically designed for gutter cleaning. The vacuum cleaner is attached to a telescopic pole which extends up to 10m in length and which is equipped with a tiny camera. The camera allows the cleaners to see what they're doing from the ground. You'll also be able to see before and after pictures so you can judge the results of your gutter cleaning.
Q: How important is gutter cleaning?
A: Very important. Initially dirty gutters will lead to standing water, become a breeding ground for insects, and an invitation to rust in metal guttering. Blocked gutters will overflow leading to extensive damage to your property. Gutter cleaning is also a good opportunity to inspect gutters with a camera and spot damage which can be hard to see from the ground.
Q: Do you clean all types of gutters?
A: We clean any gutters that don't have gutter guards.
Q: What about grass growing in the gutters?
A: We'll remove the grass. If it's been there for a while this may require manual removal by a member of the team.
Q: Do you need parking directly in front of the property?
A: We do need to be parked close to your property, as the equipment we use is very heavy. It's not necessary for the space to be right in front of your premises.
Q: Do you clean downpipes as well as roof guttering?
A: We clean the whole above-ground system, including downpipes, but not underground downpipes.
Q: Are the gutter cleaners fully trained and insured.
A: Yes, the technicians are trained and certified, and our service is covered by full insurance.
Q: How often should I get my gutters cleaned?
A: At least twice a year. It may be more often in some cases.
Q: How do I know if my gutters need repairing?
A: Sometimes the damage is obvious - you may be able to see leaking or sagging, or you gutters overflow even when they're clean. In other cases we may spot damaged areas while cleaning, if so we'll show you them to you using our system's camera
Q: What will happen if I don't get my gutters repaired?
A: It depends on individual circumstances but some of the possible consequences of badly maintained gutters include insect infestation, rotting wood, leaking roofs or basements, cracks in the foundation of your property, damage to your driveway, patios or other hard landscaping, and a waterlogged garden.
Q: How do I find out if you cover my area?
